New Marvel Trailer Officially Brings Apocalypse to the Multiverse in Spectacular Fashion
Marvel fans have a lot to look forward to in the second half of the year, especially with the looming release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Launching around the world on July 31, Spider-Man 4 will be Tom Holland’s first appearance as Peter Parker since he suited up alongside Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is expected to serve as the perfect catalyst for Avengers: Doomsday, which opens in theaters globally later this year on December 18. Before it arrives, Marvel fans are currently enjoying the long-awaited second season of X-Men ‘97, which aired its first three episodes last week. The show went on hiatus due to a creative restructuring, but new Marvel Head of TV and Streaming Brad Winderbaum has confirmed plans for new seasons to be released on a yearly basis, starting with Season 3.
The focus of X-Men ‘97 Season 2 is Apocalypse, who is widely viewed as the X-Men’s greatest villain. With his popularity surging right now, the popular video game Marvel Rivals is taking advantage of the villain by introducing him in the next season of the game, which launches this week on July 10. Marvel Rivals has also released an official trailer for the new season, putting Apocalypse at the front and center of the new season, which has been titled The Mystery of Thebes. Only time will tell how the X-Men from X-Men ‘97 will handle the world-ending threat that is Apocalypse, but Marvel Rivals players will have a chance soon to suit up as their favorite hero and take down the first and deadliest mutant in history. Jubilee and The Hood are also coming in the new season.

When Does ‘X-Men ‘97’ Season 3 Come Out?
Marvel Studios has not yet announced when the third season of X-Men ‘97 will begin streaming. However, when taking Winderbaum’s comments into effect, it’s all but confirmed that the show will return with another batch of episodes before the end of 2027. It’s also impossible to predict where the plot could be heading in Season 3 right now, with still more than half of Season 2 yet to hit Disney Plus. Assuming the X-Men dispatch Apocalypse by the end of the season, there will likely be a new threat to face, but it’s possible that Apocalypse could take multiple seasons to deal with.
